Since I was younger I had gotten some skills as a FrontEnd Developer (branch of web developing), and little by little I had realized that no matter how powerfull I might approach that, I needed to get fluency in English.

My journey as a FrontEnd Dev

I don’t remember when, but I guess I had 15 years old since I began in Tech exploring, specifically Web Design. Little by little I was picking up info about Web Design. I knew that if I going to work in the tech industry I needed be master in one branch, so I voted for Web Design, I supposed it was a good branch for starting in the industry.

Once I voted for that branch, I began to research the whole web design’s branches. I did some courses, although they weren’t bought, I could to learn the skills I needed. I mastered on technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Futhermore I also studied CSS deeper with different technologies such as Sass Pre-processor, Flexbox and some frameworks like Bootstrap and MaterializeCSS. And that point I reached the skills required for developing websites (only frontend).

After that, I thought that I could be ready for looking for a job that it needs those skills. So, I signed up in LinkedIn (a social media for networking and look for a job) and I began to look for a job that matches with my skills. While I was finding for the “perfect job” I was realizing that ALL JOBS needed Advanced or Fluent English, so I forgot it and I continued learning new skills in Web Design.

Even though I didn’t know English I continued learning new skills to be a FrontEnd Developer (person who design and build the interactivity of one website). Nowadays I learn ReactJS and others libraries for JavaScript that makes me a good option. BUT, I wasn’t able to listen and speak fluent in English. That was so stressful for me, really.

I realized it all

I had to realize about the road I was running and I understood that no matter powerfull I might approach that, I needed to be bilingual person.

The English Language is the most spoken language in the world, I guess; and I didn’t have that superpower. How did I going to have one job in Tech Industry without be fluent in English? I guess it’s impossible. So, I decided to stop my journey as a FrontEnd Developer and to start a new journey, GET BILINGUAL.

I assigned myself one ONLY GOAL

I stopped my studies as a Frontend Developer only for reaching the fluency in “the businesses language”; English. So, in this year 2022 I assigned myself one ONLY GOAL, reach that language.

My English at the beginning of this year was so weak. But at the middle of this one I reached big things, I could say I can read and write almost fluent. I feel so happy for those achievements. But, I can’t listen and speak as fluently way yet. Nevertheless, I’m studying in a Language School that I could me achieve the fluency.

I think that I will achieve it in a few months and at the ending of this year maybe I will be a bilingual person once and for all.

Thanks you all for reading this story. I hope achieve my goals this year for getting my dream’s job. So… if you liked it click applaud button and comment below if you have some suggestions or greetings to say.
